Farewell Mr. President

"................Do Not Sorrow, for the Joy of the Lord is your Strength"

Nehemiah 8:10

We watched in pride and sorrow, we smiled and cried in the same breath.  Eight years of faithful service know he leaves a legacy.  President Barack Obama gave his farewell speech to the world.  I am old enough to remember a time that blacks could not vote and to have a elected Black President speaks volumes to the change in our country.

"Yes We Can" the slogan that got him in office, as he said farewell remains his message to the world.  We can overcome all adversities, in other words we can overcome and we can become.  We can become whatever we choose.  The sky is the limit.  So you would like to know how? President says "Believe"!

John 14:12-14 says "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also, and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father,  And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.  If you ask anything in My name, I will do."

President Obama was an example of the greatness we can achieve if we believe we can. Our success is not limited to a dream, in fact there are no limits when we have faith in God.  Many of us are sadden by the end of the Presidents journey; a remarkable journey.  But it doesn't stop here, we can continue to be great, we can continue to be successful and to achieve our goals.  As we cried together tonight, we should continue to bond together, continue to make a difference.

The uncertainty of the days ahead can not over shadow our progress, if what has happen does not bring us happiness, its ok.  Fortunately for us we are not consumed by the unknown, we have joy, "Joy in the Lord"!  Thank you POTUS for the last eight years of service; but thank you God for being our strength yesterday, today and forever.  President Obama may be out of the White House, but, God Is Still on the Throne.
