Let Freedom Ring.......!

"For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

2 Corinthians 3:17 (NLT)

Nationally we as a country pause to salute a man whose vision for change, changed the world.  He was a Baptist Minister as well as the son of one.  The calling placed on his life went far beyond preaching the gospel, his assignment was to preach unity and equality for all of God's children,  He was a gentle giant who preached non-violence as the right approach for out destiny.  He believed that marches, sit-ins, boycotts and people of all races coming together as a united front to communicate a solution to the issues of  our divided country.

Although he preached non-violence , violence took his life.  His name Dr, Martin Luther King Jr. Dr, King was assassinated on April 4, 1968  at the age of 48 while serving as the leader of the Civil Rights Movement.   It silence his voice but not the movement.   The struggle is real, and yes the movement continues.

Dr. King I thank you for your vision, and I thank you even more because you stood for us, marched for us and even gave your life for us and because of your sacrifices we  now can enjoy so many opportunities that have been  afforded to us and even more for our children.  The MLK Day Holiday is known as a day of service, so what did you do today?

Dr. King,  Maya Angelou, and Rev. Hayward Wiggins all now sleep with the Lord, but each of their lives influence me to do the things that I do.  Dr. King inspired my speaking ethics, Maya Angelou inspired my writing ethics and Pastor Wiggins my evangelistic values.  I personally owe so much to them;  but Dr. King the world owes your more,.  You open the eyes of so many blinded people, you made us understand that men or created equal;  not equal and separate.  John 4:24 (KJV) says "God is a Spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"  the truth is all of us are God's children and all of us should be treated as such.
